Sue King's Professional Biography

C. Sue King, CPMSM, CPCS, CPHQ, a healthcare professional for over (30) thirty
years. Has experience and specialized expertise in working with physicians and
healthcare organization leadership with such issues as credentialing, privileging
and quality improvement. Sue has particular expertise in accreditation standards
in interpretation and compliance for hospitals, and managed care and medical
staff organizations.

Ms. King was a major contributor in the development of the medical staff services
profession. She served the National Association Medical Staff Services in several
capacities: Chairman and Director of Education, Central Region Representative,
National Conference Chairman, President of NAMSS, and Chairman of Board of
Directors in 1988. Sue has been on the NAMSS faculty for over twenty years and
participates in educational seminars and programs each year.

For over ten years, Sue was a surveyor for the National Commission on Quality
Assurance (NCQA) for their CVO Certification Program.

Sue has coauthored several publications for NAMSS, including Core Competencies
for the Medical Staff Professional, and a major portion of the educational materials
for the NAMSS certification programs. Sue has contributed to numerous publications
for her profession.

Sue’s career span included Administrative Director at St. John Medical Center
and Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. She was President of Medical Staff
Management as well as vice-president of Dessert Hospital in Palm Springs, CA.

Sue retired from active practice in 2007, and continues to participate in the
profession as an advisor and expert witness to several attorneys, and medical
staff consulting. Sue continues to serve on NAMSS faculty and instructor for
many state educational seminars.
